Commercial Project: Office Makeover

Background
This is Mary Sladek’s Farmer’s Insurance office. She had already furnished the space and carpet and wall colors worked well. Her challenge was that she wanted a welcoming space for her clients when they sat in her office, so she needed some functionality to keep her desk organized and help her be productive.

Here’s how Mary described it:

I had a very typical office space decorated with ordinary plants and corporate posters. I had added a few personal touches, but I really didn’t have the time or inclination to do more. I wasn’t sure I wanted to invest in professional design services, but I also wasn’t making progress on my own.

The Project

By viewing the before and after pictures, you’ll notice that many of the changes aren’t obvious, but they made a huge difference to Mary. By adding functional accessories for storage and organization, as well as some complementary decorative items, we gave Mary the tools she needed to remain productive without the anxiety of spreading her work all over her office.

Mary says:

When I first met with Wendy, she came to my office and took some pictures. I told her I didn’t want it to look like someone’s living room. I needed a professional space that would welcome my clients. She came back about a week later and turned my drab office into an awesome space. She stayed within budget and still gave me far more than I could have expected.

Now, she’s proud to invite her clients into her office no matter how busy her day is because her space is now clutter-free and is the warm, inviting office she wanted.

It doesn’t take a huge investment of time or money to increase the functionality and beauty of a space. You’d be surprised at how a few organizational strategies with the appropriate tools can make a huge difference in your productivity and your attitude!

After all, it’s how you feel when you’re in the space that determines how you behave, and when you’re at peace and comfortable, you can relax and be yourself.
